Product Care
Apostalcode works with materials that carry both permanence and conscience: genuine and recycled leather, Ashu Vivian high-quality recycled PU, and environment-friendly, repurposed metal. Each surface is chosen for its quiet richness, its ability to age with memory, and its balance of responsibility and refinement.
To help your pieces last beautifully, please follow the care guidelines below.
General Care
-
Keep your items away from direct sunlight, heat sources and high humidity for extended periods.
-
Avoid excessive contact with water, oils, perfumes, lotions and cosmetics.
-
Store pieces in their original dust bag or box when not in use.
-
Do not overload or crush items, as this can distort their shape or stress seams and hardware.
-
Natural variations in tone, grain, texture or small marks on leather, PU and metal are part of the material’s character and are not considered flaws.
If you’re ever unsure how to care for a specific piece, you can reach out to us and we’ll be happy to guide you.
Bags & Wallets
Your APOSTALCODE bags and wallets are designed to age gently with you, whether made from genuine leather, recycled leather or high-quality recycled PU.
-
Store them in their dust bag, filled lightly with tissue paper to help maintain their shape.
-
Avoid overfilling, which can stretch the leather/PU and put pressure on seams, zips and hardware.
-
If the surface gets wet, dab gently with a soft, dry cloth and allow it to air-dry at room temperature. Do not use a hairdryer or place near direct heat.
-
Dark or richly coloured materials may show slight colour transfer, especially in humid conditions. Avoid prolonged contact with very light-coloured garments.
-
Wipe occasionally with a soft, dry or very slightly damp cloth to remove dust and light surface dirt.
-
Do not use harsh cleaners, alcohol, acetone or solvent-based products; for PU, avoid anything that may dry out or crack the finish.
-
Fabric or canvas elements may show subtle slubs or irregularities—these are inherent to the material and part of its character.
Micron-Plated Jewellery
Our jewellery is crafted in repurposed metal with micron plating for a refined, lasting finish. Plating is a delicate surface treatment and will naturally soften with time and wear.
To keep your jewellery looking its best:
-
Store each piece individually in its original box or a soft pouch to avoid scratches.
-
Keep chains fastened and laid flat to prevent knots and kinks.
-
Always remove jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, cleaning or sleeping.
-
Avoid direct contact with perfume, hairspray, creams, sanitiser, sweat and household chemicals, as these can dull or damage the plating.
-
After each wear, gently wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove oils and residue before storing.
-
Check clasps, hooks and stone settings regularly to ensure they remain secure.
A gentle patina and minor surface marks over time are normal signs of wear and are not considered manufacturing defects.
Accessories & Bag Charms
Bag charms and small metal accessories follow the same care principles as our jewellery, with a little extra attention for movement and friction.
-
Attach charms carefully, avoiding excessive pulling or constant snagging on fabric.
-
Avoid dragging or knocking them against rough surfaces to minimise scratches on the metal or enamel.
-
Keep them away from water, perfumes, lotions, sanitiser and cleaning sprays.
-
When not in use, store charms in a soft pouch or box, separate from keys and other hard objects that may scratch them.
